The RCHM case history website/database has been set up in order to encourage practitioners of Chinese herbal medicine to share their clinical experience with colleagues. The information will be entered into a database which can be interrogated by means of key words, for example by disease category, Chinese medicine diagnosis, herbal formula or an individual herb. Existing email discussion groups provide a forum for exchange of information, but without a database the shared experience cannot be searched and thus tends to be quickly lost. The purpose of this site is to fill that gap by creating a searchable pool of experience.
To begin with, during a pilot period, use of the site will be restricted to members of the Register of Chinese Herbal Medicine, who will not be charged for the service. At a later date it will be opened up to non-RCHM members, who will be charged a modest subscription fee.
All users must apply to the administrator for a password. The administrator will check RCHM membership or (when the site is opened to wider participation) suitable qualifications/experience in Chinese herbal medicine. To apply, send an email to the Database Administrator at dba@rchmdatabase.com.
